Hints and Helps for Scoutmasters

1.  The BSA publishes the little-known "Troop Program Features," formerly known as "Woods Wisdom," which is a guide to troop program planning that contains a number of helpful meeting themes.

2.  Be sure your youth leadership has Troop Leadership Training conducted at the troop level, National Youth Leadership Training conducted at the Council level, and National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience conducted at the National level.
3.  The Knot Master Program used by Troop 994 of Woodstock, Georgia promotes knot-tying skills.
4.  Scoutcraft Skills and Pioneering are reprints of old articles from Boys Life Magazine which discuss traditional Scouting skills.  Some of the material is dated, and should compared with carefully with current Scouting standards, but leaders will recognize gadgets and skills that are still of great interest to boys.  These reprints are stored as large .pdf files that take some time to load.
