Helping Units Succeed.

The commissioner is a liaison between the local council and the Scouting units.  The commissioner's mission is to keep units operating at maximum efficiency, to maintain regular contact with unit leaders, to coach leaders on where to find assistance, and to support units and assist in remedying any weaknesses in their Scouting programs.  Commissioners help chartered organizations and unit leaders improve the quality of their Scouting program.

The Commissioner Staff Meeting for the North Atlanta District is held the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church.  The District is actively recruiting new unit commissioners.  Please contact District Commissioner Mike Chapman if you are interested in serving as a unit commissioner.

COMMISSIONERS' PLEDGE

On my honor I will do my best, by example in my daily life, to make the Scout Oath and Law a more vital force for good character and citizenship, in the lives of the youth and leaders that I serve.

I will do my best to help secure, and help to make effective, the finest possible leadership in the units that I serve.

I will do my best to help make the program of the units I serve the best that can be given, rich in wholesome fun and adventure.

In all that I do, I will strive to help my units attract into membership every possible youth, so that through their participation, that youth can help make America a finer, greater nation in the world community.
